Overview
This guide walks you through the complete setup of your Stortech account in one streamlined process. By the end, you'll have a fully functional storage facility ready to accept bookings.
Before You Begin
Make sure you have: your facility address and contact information, a list of your unit types and sizes, your business tax numbers (if applicable), and your company logo (optional, for storefront branding).
Phase 1: Account Setup (5 minutes)
Create your account at app.stortech.io/signup, enter your email, create a password, verify your email address, and log in. Then connect Stripe for payment processing - you'll be prompted on first login, or you can do this later from Settings.
Phase 2: Create Your Facility (5 minutes)
From the My Sites dashboard, click "Add a site" and fill in your facility details: Facility Name, Phone, Email, Street Address, City, Province/State, Postal/ZIP Code, and Country. Click "Create" to save.
Phase 3: Configure Settings (10 minutes)
Navigate to Settings in the left sidebar. Set up taxes by clicking the Taxes tab and adding your applicable rates (e.g., GST 5% and QST 9.975% for Quebec, HST 13% for Ontario). Configure your billing cycle (First of Month or Anniversary). Set up late fees with a grace period and fee amount.
Phase 4: Add Unit Types (5 minutes)
Go to Units in the sidebar and click "Add a unit type". For each unit size, enter the name, dimensions, monthly price, and description. Common types include 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, 10x15, and 10x20.
Phase 5: Add Individual Units (10 minutes)
On the Units page, click "Add units". Select a Unit Type, enter the quantity, starting number, and floor level. Repeat for each unit type.
Phase 6: Create Your Map (Optional)
Go to Map in the sidebar, click "Edit" to enter editor mode. Drag and drop your units onto the grid to match your facility layout. Click "Save" when done.
Phase 7: Set Up Your Storefront (5 minutes)
Go to Storefront Settings. Upload your company logo, enter your company name, choose your accent color. Add your main headline, hero image, highlights, and "About" description.
Phase 8: Test Your Setup
Create a test booking to verify everything works: taxes are correct, unit status changes, contact is created. Cancel the test booking when done.
You're Ready!
Your Stortech facility is now set up. Share your storefront URL with customers, add a booking link to your website, and train staff on the platform.
