If a customer booked a unit with a future move-in date and now wants to move in earlier, you can change the date directly from the rental's record. Billing is recalculated automatically, and if the lease was already signed, a new lease with the corrected date is sent for signature.
Who this article is for
This article is for the facility owner or manager, from a rental's detail record. The option only shows for a rental that hasn't started yet.
Before changing the date
The rental must be upcoming (its subscription isn't active yet), and the new date must be earlier than the current one and not before today. With first-of-month billing, the new date can't be earlier than the 1st of the current date's month.
Changing the move-in date
Step 1.
Open the relevant rental's record.
Step 2.
In the Rental section, click Change date.
Step 3.
Pick the new move-in date on the calendar, and check the preview: the amount that will be charged on activation, if any, is shown.
Step 4.
If the customer's lease was already signed, check Reissue signed lease to confirm a new lease will be sent.
Step 5.
Click Change date.
What happens automatically
First-of-month billing: the first period is recalculated for the additional days; the prorated additional days are charged when the subscription activates, not immediately; the amount already prepaid by the customer covers the original portion.
Anniversary or every-4-weeks billing: no extra amount is charged, only the start date changes.
Lease: if the lease was already signed, a new lease with the corrected date is sent to the customer for signature. If it wasn't signed yet, or the facility uses a paper lease, nothing special happens.
Gate access: access automatically follows the new activation date, with no action needed from you.
