If your facility uses ICT access control, you can unlock or lock a door or gate remotely, without calling your integrator. Handy for letting a customer in or out when they're stuck at a door. Two places offer this control: the Door control panel in your settings, and directly on your facility's map.
Who this article is for
Owners and managers of a facility with ICT access control active. Door control only appears when ICT is configured and in service for your facility, and requires a role authorized to manage access control.
Two ways to control a door
From settings — a list of all your doors with their status, ideal for acting fast.
From the map — place your doors and gates on your facility's floor plan, then click one to control it, just like you do with your units.
From settings (Door control)
Step 1.
Open your facility's Settings, then the Access control section.
Step 2.
Find the Door control panel. Each door shows its name and a status badge (for example Locked or Unlocked).

Step 3.
To open a door, click Unlock. A window confirms: "Unlock '{door}'? It will stay unlocked until you lock it again." Confirm.
Step 4.
The status updates after a few seconds, while the controller confirms. The badge switches to Unlocked and the button becomes Lock.
Step 5.
Once the customer has passed through, click Lock to close the door again.
The Refresh button reloads the real door states from the controller.
From the facility map
The map shows your doors and gates in the same place as your units, colored by status (locked, unlocked, left open). Before you can control them from the plan, place them once first.
Placing a door (Editor mode)
Step 1.
Open the Map and switch to Editor mode.
Step 2.
The Doors to place panel lists detected doors not yet on the plan. Click a door to add it, then drag it into position.
Step 3.
With the door selected, you can switch between Door and Gate (for wider vehicle gates), Rotate it, or Remove it from the plan.
Step 4.
Every addition, move, or rotation is saved automatically.
Controlling a door (View mode)
Step 1.
In View mode, click a placed door or gate. A window shows its name and status.
Step 2.
Click Unlock (then confirm) or Lock. The door's color updates once the controller confirms the state.
Door placement is done on desktop. The control window stays accessible on mobile.
Door states
State | Meaning |
Locked | The door is closed and secured. |
Unlocked | The door is open and will stay that way until you lock it again. |
Left open | The door was left open. Lock it again if that wasn't intended. |
Unknown state | The controller hasn't reported this door's state yet. |
Important: no automatic re-lock
An unlocked door stays open until you lock it again yourself. There's no automatic re-lock timer. Remember to click Lock as soon as the customer has passed through, especially for an exterior door or gate.
Common issues
The Door control panel doesn't appear. Is your ICT access control active? Door control only shows for facilities with ICT in service. Check the Access control section of your settings.
"Access controller unreachable." Door status couldn't be read. Try again with Refresh. If the problem persists, contact support.
"Command sent, state not confirmed." The command went out but the state hasn't been confirmed yet. Click Refresh to see the real status.
"No controllable doors." No doors are currently detected. Check your ICT configuration or contact support.
A door doesn't appear on the map. Has it been placed on the plan? Switch to Editor mode and add it from the Doors to place panel.
